United Methodist Scholarship Opportunities

West Virginia Wesleyan College offers scholarship programs for students who are members of the United Methodist Church.

UMC Partnership Scholarship

For confirmed members of the United Methodist Church, WVWC will match a church contribution up to $750 each year. A separate application must be submitted before March 1 each year if the student wishes to renew.

UMC Ministerial Grant Application

For dependents of full-time clergy members of the United Methodist Church, the grant will cover 50% of the student's direct costs. This award cannot be combined with other merit awards.

UMC Dollars for Scholars

Students may also apply for the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation's Dollars for Scholars matching program, which will match a church's contribution up to $1,000 as well, giving the student the opportunity to triple the church's contribution each year. A separate application must be submitted to the UMHEF postmarked by March 15 each year.

Additional UMC Scholarship Opportunities

In addition to the financial aid which is available through WVWC, there is additional financial aid available for students who are members of the United Methodist Church. Through agencies of the church such as the General Board of Higher Education & Ministry and the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation, there are several scholoarship programs as well as low-interest loan programs which are available to United Methodist undergraduate and graduate students.
