Facilities & Instrumentation
The Chemistry Department is housed on the third floor of the Christopher Hall of Science. Christopher Hall is located at the very heart of the Wesleyan campus and also houses the Departments of Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. The close proximity of these departments facilitates interaction between departments in interdisciplinary courses and in research that crosses traditional departmental boundaries.
Wesleyan is a small college of the liberal arts and sciences and our small size enables us to give every student access to our scientific instrumentation. Our students obtain hands-on experience with instruments in both teaching labs and in their own independent research projects. The Chemistry Department has a wide variety of chemical instrumentation with many new state-of-the-art instruments acquired within the past 5 years.
