Requirements for Mathematics Major
43 semester hours, including:

Calculus I (MTH 161)

Calculus II (MTH 162)

Calculus III (MTH 223)

Discrete Mathematics (MTH 240)
-
Basic Concepts of Mathematics (MTH 250)
-
Advanced Engineering Mathematics (MTH 301), or Linear Algebra (MTH 310)
-
Algebraic Structures (MTH 320)
-
Real Analysis (MTH 341)
-
Senior Research (MTH 440)
-
Senior Seminar (MTH 450)
Also 9 semester hours of mathematics electives at the 200 level or above. Each student must complete
one of these sequences; MTH 341 and 342 or MTH 330 and 331.
Students preparing to teach mathmatics combine math and education courses. For education requirements, please refer to the official college catalog.
Requirements for Mathematics Minor
20 semester hours, including:

Calculus I (MTH 161)

Calculus II (MTH 162)

Calculus III (MTH 223)
The remaining 9 hours must be selected
from courses numbered above 223.

Any student recieving an F in MTH103, MTH105, MTH107, MTH110, MTH115, MTH140, and MTH150 must pass DEV062
before attempting to repeat the failed course or take any other mathematics course.
