Department Of Psychology

It is the purpose of the Psychology program to aid students in understanding themselves and others through the perspective of scientific study in psychology. It provides basic mastery of content appropriate to the undergraduate level and a thorough grounding in the scientific method. Two Tracks are offered. In most cases, students should select their Track by the first semester of their sophomore year.

The Track I Psychology major is offered for students who seek a solid general foundation in psychology and want to work in human services or pursue a graduate degree in fields such as social work, rehabilitation, or related areas. Many Track I Psychology majors have double-majored in Business, Nursing, Athletic Training, Art, Sociology, Criminal Justice and Religion.

The Track II Psychology major is offered for students who seek a thorough foundation in the discipline as preparation for graduate training in psychology or other professional disciplines (e.g. Law School, Medical School).
