Plan to present
your work orally (not as a poster), with
illustrations using PowerPoint or similar presentation software.
Projection equipment and a Windows computer with Powerpoint will be
available for your use. Bring your presentation on a USB jump
drive or a CD, or you may use your own laptop. Be sure to have a
backup copy of your presentation to guard against last-minute computer
glitches! The time limit for this presentation is 12 minutes, the
same as the national competition.
The
WV-JSHS will follow the National
JSHS guidelines for abstracts and talks; please read and follow these
guidelines. You may also use the helpful hints from other
regional JSHS programs, also available on the National JSHS site.
The first and second place presenters at the WV Symposium must write
formal research papers in order to compete at the National JSHS.
Guidelines for
papers are also on the National JSHS website. Faculty involved
with the WV-JSHS will also be happy to work with you to improve your
papers before they are submitted to the National JSHS.
