Using Our Wind Tunnel

Return to student research listing

Our wind tunnel is 14 feet long and can produce velocities up to 70 miles per hour. We have a fog machine to allow us to study streamlines.

John Metzler (2003) used the wind tunnel to measure the lift and drag of wings at different angles of attack.

Tylanvis Burris (2001) measured aerodynamic properties of the F-18C Hornet fighter aircraft. Tylanvis now works for Kaydon, Inc., a Baltimore manufacturer of parts for jet fighters and aircraft.

Dr. Popson is operating the wind tunnel.
