Dr. Richard Calef, Professor of Psychology and department chair, has studied at the University of Bridgeport, and Southern Illinois University, completing his Ph.D. in experimental psychology. He has published 30 articles dealing with various types of reinforcement and discrimination in learning of humans and animals. He teaches courses in experimental psychology, behavior analysis, and general psychology, and supervises Thesis I and II projects.

Dr. Ruth Ann Calef, Associate Professor of Psychology, has studied at North Central College and Southern Illinois University, completing her Ph.D. in counseling psychology. She has published articles in the areas of behavior therapy, and human and animal learning. She teaches courses in counseling processes, personality theory, and experimental psychology, and supervises Thesis I and II and Practicum I and II projects.

Dr. Katherine Glenney, Associate Professor of Psychology, received her bachelor degree from Susquehanna University, her Masters in Community Counseling from Shippensburg University, and her Ed.D. in Counseling from West Virginia University. Previously, she was employed at a community mental health center as Director of the Developmental Disabilities Program. Prior to this, she worked with college students, victims of domestic violence, psychiatric patients, and mentally retarded individuals. She has had extensive training in family and marriage therapy and was previously a certified addictions counselor for the state of Pennsylvania. Currently, she is a licensed psychologist for the state of West Virginia. At Wesleyan, she teaches general psychology, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, and social psychology. Her special interests include developmental disabilities and other handicapping conditions and abnormal psychology. Dr. Glenney also supervises Practicum I and Practicum II.

B.A., Huazhong Normal University M.S., Ph.D., Brigham Young University

Dr. Cai Studied at Huazhong Normal University and Brigham Young University, completing a Ph.D. in Applied Social Psychology. She teaches courses in Statistics and Research Methods, Experimental Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Biopsychology. Her research interests are in organizational behaviors, effective parenting and coping, and culture differences.
