Attend Your Class Reunion and Renew Old Friendships

How long has it been since you walked across the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College? Each October during Homecoming, reunion classes gather to reconnect with classmates and remember the years they spent together as students. This fall will be no different as alumni in the classes of 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, and 2000 come together at special reunion events. In addition to individual class events on October 21st and 22nd, another opportunity for the classes to reunite occurs at the alumni banquet on Saturday evening, October 22. The banquet is a celebration time for all alumni who attend Homecoming. It also is the time each reunion class is recognized, its class chair presents a symbolic check for all gifts made by that class, and the classes compete for the highest alumni gift participation rate.

Leading up to the Homecoming weekend, the reunion class chairs stay busy contacting classmates. Often with the help of other class members, the reunion chairs are able to make personal contacts with a large percentage of the class encouraging their attendance and gift participation. Each class strives to be recognized as #1 in event attendance and class gift participation. This year, the class with the highest alumni gift participation rate will receive a special award.

Reunion class chairs and the current alumni participation percentage for each class is listed below.

1960 Carol Simons Weissmann 26%
1965 Tom Brzezinski 20%
1970 Fred Leasure 21%
1975 Bill Grant 15%
1980 Michael and Susan Miller Aloi 15%
1985 David Ford 10%
1990 Rob Gifford 7%
1995 Dustin Bush 12%
2000 Protima Advani 9%

Don’t wait a minute longer; make plans now to be in Buckhannon, October 21-23, for Homecoming 2005. Your classmates and West Virginia Wesleyan College look forward to welcoming you back to your “Home Among the Hills.”

If you have not received a letter from your class chair or know of a classmate who has not been contacted, please inform the alumni office at alumni@wvwc.edu. You may make a class gift now online or by sending a check to the WVWC Advancement Office, 59 College Avenue, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
