Class of 2005

In this issue of the Orangeline, we will be providing a few facts and updates about West Virginia Wesleyan College Class of 2005.

• 321 Wesleyan students received degrees on Sunday, May 1.

• Three students received the first Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees.

• Graduating with honors were 75 students, and 39 graduates earned a grade point averages of 3.70 or higher.

• Graduates hailed from 20 states and four foreign countries. West Virginia had the largest number of graduates with 146, followed by Pennsylvania (40) and New Jersey (20).

During an April award convocation,

• 16 students received the Senior Activity Key.

• Six graduates were named outstanding seniors: Brian Berry of Clarksburg, WV, Sarah Coyne of East Longmeadow, MA, Jeff Isner of Ripley, WV, Caitlin Rexrode of Rivesville, WV, Sarah St. Clair of Morgantown, WV, and Allison Thorp of Parkersburg, WV.

• Summa cum laude graduate Caitlin Rexrode received the William B. Hatfield Fine Arts Award.
• Leanna Laskey of Prospect, PA, was named Greek Woman of the Year and Justin Spratt of Scott Depot, WV, and Robert Morris of Elkins, WV, were named Greek Men of the Year.

According to the Academic & Career Center, from information obtained from the graduates, 42% of Wesleyan graduates plan to attend graduate school and 35% will enter the work force. For example,

• Raymond LaMora of Elkins, WV, will attend WVU College of Law.

• Elizabeth Anderson, Washington, PA, accepted a position as a staff nurse at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center

• Brett Gagnon, Lebanon, NH, will attend the Columbia University School of Social Work.

• Jamaal Robinson, Tracy, CA, has accepted a position as a financial advisor for Northwestern Mutual financial Network in Sacramento, CA.

• James Holland, Prince Frederick, MD, will be working as an actor at the Round House in Washington, DC.

• Ronnie Sparks, St. Albans, WV, will enroll in the WVU School of Dentistry.
