A group of 17 students which included six students and 11 faculty/staff/spouses/friends from the Wesleyan community traveled to China. At Shanghai, we visited Yuan Garden, a Ming dynasty-era garden, Jade Budda Temple and Shanghai Museum, and enjoyed an Acrobatic show.

We cruised on the famous and beautiful West Lake, also visited Linying Temple, and a Tea Plantation at Hangzhou in Nanjing. We visited Dr. Sun Yat-Sen’s Mausoleum, Ming Dynasty City Walls and Park. Our next stop was Xian where we saw the newest one of the world wonders, the Terra Cotta Soldiers and Horses, along with the History Museums. In Beijing, we visited Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace, Ming Tombs, and climbed the Great Wall.

Here are remarks from students about the trip:

“It was the experience of a life time, and I will never forget it.” -- Bryan Teach

“It was definitely the trip of a lifetime and I could not have picked a better group of people to share it with.” -- James Atkins

“I definitely will go back again.” -- Andrew Patterson

“I’m going to get married at West Lake, Hangzhou.” -- Jonathan Gohrband

“Thank you very much for making our China trip so great.” -- Kole Metz
