Alumni Set Record

West Virginia Wesleyan College alumni made history again by reaching a 23% alumni participation rate for the second year in a row. Last year’s participation rate was the highest reported by the College in over 10 years.

The alumni participation level tells the world that our alumni value their education and want to ensure that West Virginia Wesleyan College continues to provide future generations with the same Wesleyan experience that has been a tradition for over 100 years.

Achieving a high level of alumni participation is important because many foundations consider alumni giving as part of their criteria for awarding grants. College guides, such as U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges, use the participation rate as a measure of alumni confidence. Ranking as a Best College also has an affect on whether a prospective student will consider enrolling.

Wesleyan would like to thank the over 3000 alumni who participated and helped the College achieve this participation rate. The 2005-2006 goal for alumni participation is 3500 donors. When asked, please participate and help us make history again!
