If you missed Homecoming 2006, you missed a great weekend of celebration and imagination.  With the Inauguration of Dr. Pamela Balch ’71, as Wesleyan’s eighteenth President, it truly was an inspiring weekend for what West Virginia Wesleyan College can be for future generations.  The weekend allowed alumni, faculty, staff, and students to share in the memories of the Wesleyan experience.  Throughout the weekend one could see hugs, friendly greetings, smiles, and excitement as people came together to relive their Wesleyan experience and catch up on life since graduation.

brunyHighpoints of the weekend included an Evening of Music where Dr. Balch and her daughter performed, the Inauguration, Class Reunion Dinners, Saturday’s parade, the creation of a Food Village in the Gym, the Annual Alumni Dinner, and a Bobcat Bash held in downtown Buckhannon with a great fireworks display.

As you read this edition of the Orangeline, I hope you can see that excitement and anticipation that many hold for Wesleyan.  There is much work to be done, but continued support from you, our alumni, will be critical as our campus community imagines the future.   I hope you will consider attending next year’s Homecoming or other events during the year to sense the excitement yourself.

Sincerely,

Kevin Bruny '84
President, Alumni Association
