over 500 alumni, parents, and other friends of the college
help generate enthusiasm, as well as much-needed financial
support for Wesleyan’s team sports and the outstanding
young men and women who participate in them.
 Bobcat
Pride Club members can draw tremendous satisfaction
from knowing that their financial assistance is providing
a significant supplement to usual athletic department
resources. Pride Club contributions help sustain scholarships,
improve equipment and facilities, and enhance athletic
department programs and services for more than 400 student-athletes
each year.
West
Virginia Wesleyan College is proud of its student-athletes

Q:
How do I support the Bobcat Pride Club?
 A:
A gift to the Bobcat Pride Club secures your
membership for the college year in which your gift is
made. Gifts in the form of checks made payable to West
Virginia Wesleyan College for the Bobcat Pride Club
are the most common form of contribution, but appreciated
stock or other securities also may be given. Appreciated
securities frequently represent an advantageous form
of gift for the donor. In some cases, gifts-in-kind
(products or services applicable to the athletic program)
also may be considered. Many companies will match gifts
made by their employees. Contact your personnel office
to determine eligibility.
Q:
How are Bobcat Pride Club gifts used?
A:
Undesignated gifts to the Bobcat Pride Club
provide general support for the entire athletic program.
Gifts are used to supplement funds provided through
the normal college budgeting process. Expenditure decisions
are made by the director of athletics in consultation
with athletic department staff.
Q:
May I designate my Bobcat Pride Club gift?
A:
You may direct all or a portion of your gift
to a specific sport or sports (see back panel). Designated
gifts are used exclusively by the sport to which they
are directed and are in addition to funds budgeted by
the college. Expenditure decisions are made by the coaching
staff and approved by the director of athletics.
 Q:
May I give to scholarships for student-athletes?
A:
Bobcat Pride Club gifts may be directed to
the Cebe Ross Scholarship Fund. This is Wesleyan’s
traditional athletic scholarship gift program. Gifts
to the Cebe Ross Scholarship may be awarded to student-athletes
in any sport. Scholarship gifts also may be designated
for use in a specific sport. For more information on
designated scholarship gifts or on establishing a designated

Will my gift for athletic facilities count toward Bobcat
Pride Club membership?
A:
Gifts that support any aspect of Wesleyan’s
athletic program count toward Bobcat Pride Club membership
in the year they are given. From time-to-time, the college
may initiate fund-raising campaigns for special athletic
facilities. Gifts and pledge payments made toward those
campaign facility objectives also are recognized in
the Bobcat Pride Club.
Q:
How much is a Bobcat Pride Club membership?
A:
There is no required gift level. All gifts
are welcome, and all gifts are important to the success
of the Bobcat Pride Club program. Obviously, though,
the more funds we raise, the more effective we will
be in meeting the needs of Wesleyan’s athletic
program. All donors are recognized for their participation
in the Bobcat Pride Club team. Special recognition is
given to those who support the Bobcat Pride Club at
one of the following levels:
- Bobcat
Starters: $50 or more
- Bobcat
Captains: $100 or more
- Bobcat
All-Conference: $500 or more
- Bobcat
All-Americans: $1,000 or more
