Performing Arts UpdateProgress on for new Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts building continues to be on schedule for its 2009 Spring debut. EVELYN HARRISON CUCINOTTA ’56, Somerset, MA, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on June 5, 2008. They were married after their sophomore year at Wesleyan and lived at College Unit #13. Those were wonderful days for David and Evelyn. 1964 KAREN POST CARTWRIGHT, Buckhannon, WV, was elected trustee of WV United Methodist Foundation for a three-year term. 1972 TIMOTHY T. WHITE, Fredericksburg, VA, retired on August 1, 2007 and moved to Virginia. 1974 D. SCOTT BLACKBURN, Salisbury, MD, has two children. His son, Aaron, was married in April and his youngest child, Morgan, completed his freshman year at McDaniel College, where he is in the honors program and swims for the men’s team. * EDWARD A. TRIMMER, Montgomery, AL, is the new Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts at Huntingdon College in Montgomery. He was the former Dean of the School of Religion at Pfeiffer University. 1976 DENNIS SLOGLE, Arden, NC, was appointed the new President and CEO of Mack Trucks. Dennis and his wife, Karen, are expecting their first grandchild. Their daughter, Kristin, is married to CHRISTOPHER W. GARRETT ’00. 1985 PHILLIP “P.T.” CONRAD, Goleta, CA, is now a lecturer in computer science at the University of California in Santa Barbara. 1998 ELIZABETH C. ALTOBELLI, Larchmont, NY, has been named to the RE/MAX 100 Percent Club and is the number one agent for the greatest number of transactions in RE/MAX ‘s District 5 area. 1990 DANETTE IFERT JOHNSON, Ithaca, NY, and her husband, Steve, announce the adoption of their daughter, Grace, born December 24, 2006 in Guangxi Province, China. She joins big brother, Christopher at home. Danette was recently promoted to Professor at Ithaca College. * JENNIFER JARRELL WATTERS, Lexington, KY, and her husband, Damon Hinkle, were united in marriage on May 24, 2008 at Gatlinburg, TN. Jennifer is a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer employed by ELAN Home Systems and she has son – Thomas, who is eleven.
2006 KARYN FRUM BENNETT, Buckhannon, WV, and her husband, Chip, were married at Wesley Chapel on March 29, 2008. Alumni in the wedding were MICAH SNYDER ’02, NICK ANDREW ’02, and BRAD WINGLER ’05. Alumni in attendance were MEGAN MILLER SNYDER ’03, JILL WALKER WINGLER ’06, DONNA VEACH ANDREW ’02, ALLISON THORP ’05, A. LINDSEY THORP ’71, MELLISA WORKMAN ’05, KIRK WILSON ’03, ELLIS CONLEY ’73, JULIE MONTGOMERY CONLEY ’74. Also in attendance were VAL BENNETT ’08, JODI MYERS ’08, SARAH OWEN ’09, and SARAH PECK ’11. Karyn is currently employed at First United Methodist Church in Elkins, WV, as the director of Student Ministries.
