Welcome Message

Dear Family and Friends:

As the academic year comes to a close, I find myself in the midst of planning several events for the next 12 months. We celebrated Commencement just a week ago and already there is discussion about the Class of 2009 and its Commencement Weekend.

We will soon confirm plans for the 2008 Homecoming Weekend where we honor the Classes of 1958, 1963, 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, and 2003. We will certainly continue many traditions of Wesleyan Homecomings of the past and also add in a few new activities. I hope you will save the date and join us this fall: October 9-12.

Next February, we will tackle a service trip for Katrina Relief. If you are interested in participating in a work team project, mark your calendar now for February 21-27. More details will be available soon.

Other alumni events in the works include the Bobcat Open Golf Tournament (date and location to be announced soon), a baseball game at the WV Power in Charleston, and activities in the Richmond, VA, and Charlotte, NC, areas.

In addition, the town of Buckhannon is full of activity as I write this note to you. The annual West Virginia Strawberry Festival is about to begin. If you have not attended the Strawberry Festival, I invite you to join us some time. It truly is a special time to be a part of the greater Wesleyan community.
