UNPUBLISHED - Enhancement Fund

UNPUBLISHED - Enhancement Fund

In 2014, the U.S. Department of Education awarded Wesleyan a $10 million Title III grant under the department’s Strengthening Institution’s Program (SIP). The purpose of the grant is to improve strategies for student engagement and success which includes enrollment, retention, persistence, and graduation rates for Wesleyan students, especially those who are first-generation college students and/or Federal Pell Grant recipients.  The award allows the College to improve student success through additional staff, bringing all classrooms into the 21st century with state-of-the-art technology, and investing in faculty development.

A $2 million endowment challenge over the next five years is a key component of this grant.

Every dollar you contribute to The Enhancement Fund is matched by the federal government.  Our goal is to secure $400,000 annually for a total of $2 million in order to create a special $4 million endowment for Wesleyan.

The endowment that is created by The Enhancement Fund will allow Wesleyan to continue the programs and efforts created after the Title III grant expires.

To make your gift to The Enhancement Fund, click here or mail your check to West Virginia Wesleyan College, Office of Advancement, 59 College Avenue, Buckhannon, WV  26201.  Be sure to write The Enhancement Fund on the memo line of your check.

Matching gift companies can make your gift go even further.  If you are employed by a company that offers to match gifts to non-profits, your contribution to the fund is doubled and the federal government will match the total contribution.
