After a rain delayed beginning of the running portion of the NCAA Track and Field Championships on Friday, Wesleyan sprinter Kevoy Douglas (pictured) turned in a time of 21.527 in the preliminary heat of the 200 meter dash.

In a tight race, Douglas missed out on the finals cut by .012 of a second. The top eight times out of the three heats qualified for Saturday's finals with Douglas finishing in tenth. However, Douglas was separated from seventh place by only .014 of a second.

Because of the close finish, official word on the Douglas' standing was delayed to ensure an accurate finish.

Multiple thunderstorms in the Charlotte, NC area on Friday evening forced Douglas' race to be pushed back by over two hours. Shortly after the race, another thunderstorm moved in resulting in an ongoing delay.

Earlier in the day on Friday, Douglas' teammate, Ricky Kump completed the decathlon with a fifth place finish to earn him All-American honors.

With the completion of the decathlon and 200 meter dash, the Bobcat track and field team has officially wrapped up a solid 2010 campaign.
