The West Virginia Wesleyan cross country teams competed in the Atlantic Region Championships Saturday morning in Lamb's Creek at Mansfield, PA.
The men’s team finished a strong 11th among 21 teams while the women placed 15th among 22 teams.
Nate Edwards (pictured) was the top finisher for the ‘Cats placing 27th among 149 runners with a time of 32:53.
Barry Franklin and Caleb Withers crossed the finish line at the same of 33:48. Franklin was awarded 44th while Withers claimed 45th.
Rounding out the Bobcat line-up was Skyler McCoy in 84th (35:17), Luke Finley in 107th (35:59), Thomas Osborne in 115th (36:49), and Andy Kall in 118th (37.16).
Ben Hahn of Edinboro was the race with a clocking of 31:02 while Nick Hilton of Lock Haven was second with a time of 31:19.
Shippensburg won the regional title with a team score of 39 points while Edinboro was second with 56 points and Lock Haven was third with 62 points. Wesleyan tallied 307 points for its 11th place-finish.
Wesleyan was the top team WVIAC among the six that competed.
Katelyn Hunt was the top Lady Bobcat placing 53rd among 152 runners with a time of 22:33. Jenna Brock checked in at 61st with a showing of 23:45 while Christine Azevedo was in 68th (23:53).
The rest of the Lady ‘Cats were Andrienne Moretz in 82nd (24:21), Devin Muldoon in 95th (24:46), Heidi Webb in 104th (25:07), and Ashley Lavengood in 119th (25:42).
Neely Spence of Shippensburg was the women’s individual title with a clocking of 20:15 while Priscilla Jennings of Millersville was second with a time of 20:41.
Shippensburg also claimed the women’s championship with 86 points while Kutztown was second with 100 and Bloomsburg was third with 120. Wesleyan ended up with 359 points to place in 15th.
The Lady ‘Cats were second among WVIAC teams, finishing eight points behind Wheeling Jesuit.
