Three Wesleyan softball players, led by Kashilia Young recently earned Daktronics softball All-Atlantic Region honors. Young was the lone Lady Bobcat to be named to the First Team while teammates Patricia Moreno and Dana Goguen received Second Team honors.
Young (pictured top right), a junior from Arkansas City, KS led the team with a .351 batting average and 13 home runs. In addition, Young tallied 41 RBI's while starting and appearing in 47 games.
Moreno (pictured middle left), a senior from Phoenix, AZ went 24-7 with a 2.03 earned run average to rank in the league's top three in both categories. She saved her best effort of the season for the WVIAC Tournament with a 20-inning scoreless streak to earn MVP honors. On the season, Moreno fanned 198 hitters in 200.0 innings of work.
Goguen (pictured bottom right), a junior from Phoenix, AZ earned Second Team honors after starting in all 57 games for Wesleyan. Goguen recorded a batting average of .301 with a team high in doubles with 12 and RBI's with 47. Goguen also tallied a team high with 100 total bases and finished second on the team with 12 home runs.
The Lady Bobcats finished out the year with an overall record of 44-13 after advancing to the NCAA tournament.
