Men Place 11th, Women 15th in X-C Atlantic Regional


The West Virginia Wesleyan cross country teams competed in the Atlantic Region Championships Saturday morning in Lamb's Creek at Mansfield, PA.


The men’s team finished a strong 11th among 21 teams while the women placed 15th among 22 teams.


Nate Edwards (pictured) was the top finisher for the ‘Cats placing 27th among 149 runners with a time of 32:53.

Cross Country Teams Continue WVIAC Dominance


The Wesleyan men's and women's cross country teams entered Saturday's West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) championship looking to defend their respective titles. Both rosters featured plenty of new faces that were going up against deep and talented competion. WVIAC Cross Country Championship Meet Preview


Tight battles are expected in both races during Saturday's WVIAC Cross Country Championship hosted by Glenville State College. Head coach Jesse Skiles (pictured) and his men's and women's cross country teams will look to defend their conference titles.

Women First, Men Fourth in Latest WVIAC XC Rankings


The Wesleyan men's and women's cross country teams held steady in the conference power rankings heading into this weekend's WVIAC championship meet at Glenville State.


The women continue to hold down the top spot in the team rankings with Jenna Brock (pictured) ranked fourth individually. The men, meanwhile are ranked fourth in the team rankings with Nate Edwards leading the way at second in the individual rankings.

Feature Athlete of the Week: Barry Franklin


Each week, the Wesleyan Sports Information staff will sit down with a different featured athlete for a question and answer session.


This week's featured athlete is men's cross country runner Barry Franklin. Franklin, a sophomore from Medford, New York helped lead the Wesleyan cross country and track teams to WVIAC championships last year in his first year on the squad.
