Tennis Teams Earn ITA All-Academic Honors
The Wesleyan men's and women's tennis teams excelled not only on the tennis courts in 2009-2010 but in the classroom as well, earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic honors. In addition, eight men and four women were recognized as ITA Scholar Athletes.
The women were one of 37 teams to earn All-Academic honors while the men were one of 20 teams to make the list.

Women's Tennis Finishes 5th in ITA Atlantic Rankings
The Wesleyan women's tennis team concluded the 2009-2010 season with a fifth place ranking in the ITA Atlantic Region poll. The Lady Bobcats went 14-6 on the season which included a WVIAC championship and an appearance in the NCAA Atlantic Region tournament.
Anastasiya Scherbakova was the highest ranked Wesleyan women's player in the singles ranking at #14. In doubles action, the Lady Bobcat pair of Nicole Andreini (pictured) and Marcela Torres ended the year at #10.
Lady 'Cat Netters Fall in Regionals To Bloomsburg, 5-0
The West Virginia Wesleyan women’s tennis team has a rough day against Bloomsburg in semi-final action Friday afternoon of the NCAA Division II Atlantic 2 Regional tennis tournament held at Slippery Rock (PA).
The Lady ‘Cats lost a 5-0 decision.
They ended their season with a 14-7 record.
Olga Demina and Maisa Shigematsu at No. 2 doubles had the closest match for Wesleyan. They lost a hard-fought 9-7 decision to Katie Hasyn and Kristen Bonito.
Women's Tennis Advances to NCAA Regionals at SRU
The WVIAC champion Wesleyan women's tennis team will travel to Slippery Rock (PA) on May 6-8 to participate in the opening rounds of the NCAA Division II women's tennis championships.
The Lady Bobcats are 14-6 on the season and were ranked sixth in the final Atlantic Region poll. Wesleyan is scheduled to open NCAA tournament play on May 7 against Bloomsburg University at 12 p.m.

Tennis Lady 'Cats Tumble To Bloomsburg, 5-1
The West Virginia Wesleyan women’s tennis team dropped a 5-1 decision to host Bloomsburg (PA) Sunday morning in the second and final day of the Bloomsburg Duals.
Picking up the lone for the Lady Bobcats was the No. 1 doubles team of Nicole Andreini and Anastasiya Scherbakova (pictured) beating Allison Carney and Emily Palko by an 8-6 score.
The Lady ‘Cats ended the two-day affair with a 1-2 record.
The loss leaves them with a 14-6 overall record.
