The Bobcat Sports Network (BSN)
Wesleyan’s radio station C-92 is now
into its fourth full season of sports broadcasting, airing football and both
the men’s
and women’s basketball home games.
What began as an internship project for 2004 graduate Nick Hamisevicz has evolved
into a highly energetic option for radio disc jockeys who prefer sports broadcasting.
In Fall 2004, the new venture was aptly named The Bobcat Sports Network (BSN).
With a meager budget and a lot of ingenuity, BSN expanded its broadcast menu
to include home football games in the fall of 2005, and for the first time
in the radio station’s history, went on the road to broadcast remotely
from Fairmont State University and Alderson-Broaddus College this winter.
Calling the games for football were Chris Chadwick and Vic Lombard in 2004
and Rico Greenhowe and CLint McCandless. Broadcasting for the basketball games
in 2005 was a triumvirate of announcers that included Marrico (Rico) Greenhowe,
Alyssa Miller and Logan Smith.
BSN's legacy included the creativity of its 2004 management
which included Phillips Kolsun, general manager, and Kevin Younkin, technical
director. Their tireless efforts and abilities had a lot to do with bringing
BSN to the airwaves, the Internet and to Wesleyan’s
cable channel 22.
