Rooms are furnished with a bed, closet, dresser, desk, and chair for each student. Each residence hall has a lounge that is furnished with sofas, cable television, soda, and food vending machines. Residents may personalize their rooms by providing linen, bed spreads, rugs, window coverings and other items that make the room feel more like home.
The Office of Housing and Residence Life believes in a room assignment philosophy that sees students gradually progressing from a traditional style residence halls in the first few years of college to more independent living options in their later years of college.
Our traditional style residence halls are found in the First Year Living Area - "The Quad." In The Quad, first year students find themselves in a supportive environment designed to assist them on their transition from living at home and going to high school to a more independent lifestyle. Buildings are designed to offer a high degree of contact with fellow students and with the Office of Housing and Residence Life staff.
