Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Dean do?
On the whole, the Dean of the Chapel's role is to promote the overall well-being of the college by way of her presence and involvement through worship and other liturgical activities such as weddings and memorial services - and through a plethora of programs and support of student-led ministries. In other words, she serves as the pastor to the student, faculty, and staff. She also partners with the Coordinator of Church Relations to build and encourage relationships between the college and the Church that will strengthen their common areas of mission.

Chaplain or Campus Minister?
Our Dean of the Chapel is a college "chaplain." This is similar to a hospital or military chaplain in that she is available to help any member of the community, not just Christians. At the same time, our chaplain will help to encourage the Christian community within WVWC and support the work of other religious communities in the college.
When are the worship services?
The Wesleyan campus community gathers on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. for chapel services. There are no classes scheduled during this time slot, and there are to be no meetings or other scheduled events. These weekly services offer a variety of liturgical forms and usually include a sermon by Rev. Kinkead or a guest speaker. Holy Communion is offered weekly.
The West "Meditation" Chapel on the first floor of Martin Religious Center is available for prayer and reflection all the time, but regular services are also held there each week.
- Mondays at 7 p.m. - Student-led praise and worship
- Saturdays at 5 p.m. - Catholic Mass
And again - weekly chapel service Tuesdays at 11 a.m. in Wesley Chapel.
