| The final
standings for the 2001-02 Commissioner's Cup have been announced. West Virginia
Wesleyan is the recipient of this award, with Wheeling Jesuit and West Liberty
second and third, respectively. The West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) annually awards the Commissioner's Cup as a means of recognizing all-around athletic excellence among its member schools. This award goes to the school that has the highest cumulative score as determined by a scoring method used by the league. Points are awarded based on the school's finish after completion of each of the sports sponsored by the WVIAC. West Virginia Wesleyan College has won the Commissioner's Cup eleven years in a row, and thirteen times overall. The College won championships in men's soccer, women's soccer, women's swimming, men's basketball, and softball. |
