| Wesleyan Professor Dr. Mark DeFoe to Present Free Writing Workshop at Sissonville Public Library released: 05/03/02 |
| Dr. Mark DeFoe, chair of West Virginia Wesleyan's English department will conduct a writing workshop in the Sissonville Public Library from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on May 14. He will work with area writers to help them polish their work and improve their writing skills. "Both beginning and experienced writers are encouraged to participate," DeFoe said. "The workshop is focused on poetry writing, but fiction writers can also benefit by attending." DeFoe, whose fourth book, Aviary, was published last September, has taught literature and writing at Wesleyan for 25 years. He recently read selections from Aviary at a reading at the Writer's Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Widely published, the Wesleyan professor has new work coming out in the following journals: Poetry, George Washington Review, New Letters, and Willow Review, among others. The workshop is free and open to all. |
