| Wesleyan to Host Jazz Ensemble Concert released: 12/03/01 |

| The West Virginia Wesleyan College Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert on December 7th, in Wesley Chapel at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first concert on the campus by the ensemble since its concert tour last summer of Finland, Estonia, and Russia. Popular selections from the big band repertoire will be featured including, Gospel John from the Maynard Ferguson library, Norwegian Wood from Buddy Rich’s Band, Stan Kenton’s Body and Soul, and Pavane from the Woody Herman book. Several contemporary swing, Latin, and rock tunes will fill out the hour of big band listening. The Ensemble will perform at the Greenbrier Hotel for the West Virginia Council of Independent Colleges and Universities on Monday, December 03. Future performances include the Smoot Theatre in Parkersburg, Norwin High School in Pennsylvania, and Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, Maryland. The Wesleyan concert on December 7th is free and open to the public. |
