| Wesleyan Employee Wins Award released: 12/18/01 |
| On December
6, the West Virginia Career and Employment Professionals, an association
of WV College Career Services and Employer Human Resources professionals,
presented to Mr. Tim Channell of WV Wesleyan College, the 2000 - 2001 WVACEP
Mary Hicks Outstanding Service Award. In Memory of Sister Mary Hicks, a charter member of WVACEP, this award recognizes a member who has made tremendous contributions to the organization. Sister Mary was instrumental in organizing WVACEP while she served as the Director of Career Services at WV Institute of Technology between 1985 and 1990 Mr. Channell was responsible for the first statewide Virtual Career Fair offered in April 2001 to every student on every WV college and university campus. Mr. Channell also was responsible for establishing the first WVACEP web page. Ms. Pat Kline, Director of Career Services at WV State College, presented the award to Mr. Channell. A previous award winner herself, Ms. Kline commented "that she knew Mary Hicks, and that Mary would have been pleased to know that such computer technology had been brought to the WVACEP by such a young man as Tim Channell". |
