Coming to Jenkins Arena released: 4/05/02 |

| Girls! Girls!
Girls!, a one-act festival, will be presented Thursday, April 4, and Friday,
April 5, at 8:00 p.m. in Jenkins Arena. The shows being performed include
Words, Words, Words and The Philadelphia by David Ives, directed by Sharon
Lynn Miner; Hello Out There by Gus Edwards, directed by Andrea Di Pietro;
and Four Walls by William Saroyan, directed by Jenora Benjamin. Hello Out There is the story of a young man held in jail for an alleged rape. While in jail, he reaches out to a young girl and through their conversations the girl finds a way out of her sheltered life. The show features Kami Baker, Terry Tignor, Jeffrey Gudzune, Erin Schlabach, and Jason Jackson. The drama Four Walls depicts the story of a man in his twenties who frequently cheats on his wife, Rose, who is in her forties. As the show progresses, the audience will see that Rose's way of handling her husband is not at all what he expected. Featured in the show are James Holland, Heather Schnieder, and Julie Miles. Words, Words, Words plays with the philosophical saying that three monkeys, typing on typewriters into infinity, will sooner or later produce Shakespeare. The Philadelphia depicts a man who finds himself hopelessly trapped inside a creepy, science fiction-like place where he cannot receive anything he asks for. Both productions will star Jack Lefebvre, Nora Dillard, and Gavin Lawrence. The festival is open to the public; tickets will be available at the door for $1. |
