The Little Prince,
which was written by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, and adapted into play form
by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar, will be presented at West Virginia
Wesleyan College's Jenkins Arena Theatre on Saturday, March 23, and Sunday,
March 24, at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The Little Prince is a classic tale that is cherished by both young and
old alike. It is a magical story of how a fallen aviator pilot, stranded
in the desert, meets a mysterious little prince and learns lessons about
life, by learning that "what is essential is invisible to the eye."
Antoine de Saint-Exupery wrote The Little Prince in 1943, and it was the
third most widely read book of the twentieth century, after the Bible
and the Koran. Originally written in French, its message of peace and
hope still continues to inspire children and adults alike, and has been
translated into more than a hundred languages.
Wesleyan's cast under the direction of Bess Park Reynolds includes: Daniel
Geske, Rocky Gettel, Alberta Haught, Jason Jackson, LeAnne Mangano, Whitey
Mitchell, Rick Morgan, John Pelham, Caitlin Rexrode, Amber Rizor, Christina
Whinnery, and Amanda Yonas.
Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for children and seniors, and $1 for Wesleyan
students with a valid ID. To reserve tickets, or for more information,
please call the Wesleyan Theatre Box Office at: 304-473-8037.
The concert
is free and open to the public.
