The West
Virginia Wesleyan College Campus Activities Board (CAB), will present
the rock quintet Sugar Ray with special guest on Monday, March 18th at
8:00pm (doors open at 7:00pm) in the Rockefeller Gymnasium on the campus
of West Virginia Wesleyan College.
The band's latest album, SUGAR RAY, includes instantly addictive hits,
with radio stations across the country pumping out "When It's Over"
and "Answer The Phone" over the airwaves. The self-titled fourth
album from the Southern California-based band artfully combines elements
of rock, punk, reggae, hip-hop, and New Wave sounds to create an album
that is at once worthy of repeat-listening.
The creation of the album began when Sugar Ray was on tour in 1999 with
The Goo Goo Dolls. Needing a way to break-up the boredom of endless traveling,
the bandmates would get together and jam, creating sounds that would eventually
end up on the new album. Sugar Ray's previous two releases - 1997's double
platinum FLOORED and 1999's triple platinum 14:59 - paved the way for
the band to produce a collection of music with unstoppable energy and
innovative songwriting.
Tickets for the general public will go on sale starting Monday, February
25th for $20. Tickets can only be purchased in the West Virginia Wesleyan
College CAB office from 8:00am until 4:30pm. Individuals may pay by phone
with credit card at 304-473-8104. A parent or guardian (over the age of
21) must accompany anyone under the age of 15.
