| Wesleyan Theatre Arts Department closes their 2001-02 season with Ken Ludwig's outrageous farce, Lend Me a Tenor. Playing in Wesleyan's Atkinson Auditorium April 18-20 at 8 p.m. and April 21st at 2 p.m., this production is sure to please. Set in the opera mecca of Charleston, West Virginia, Lend Me a Tenor overflows with mirth and merriment. A world-renowned Italian tenor Tito Merelli, played by senior Bill Lizor, arrives to perform Otello for local audiences. What will the opera company do when the tenor is found dead? A heroic impersonation, mistaken identities on a grand scale, secret connivings, double entendres, amorous interludes and assorted further surprises abound in this wacky and high-paced evening's entertainment. Director Greg Mach has assembled a strong troupe of comic actors who will whisk you through a tangled web of lies, deceit and hilarity. Your enjoyment forbids that we reveal many of the wonderful surprises that this production contains! Mach says, "The cast of Lend Me a Tenor is full of WVWC veterans who know how to take this material and run with it. They know how to get the most out of each hilarious moment: we're having a great time putting together one of the funniest shows ever written. We can't wait to get our work in front of an audience so we can share the fun!" Wesleyan seniors Bill Lizor and Michael Sniffen will make their final appearance on the Wesleyan stage. The cast also includes Rachel Wall, Vince Trimboli, Heather Schneider, Christopher Blackburn, Erica Scanlon, and Amy Snyder. Tickets are $4 General Admission, $2 Seniors, and $1 Student.
