| Yale Graduate's Artwork on Display at West Virginia Wesleyan College released: 02/12/02 |
| An opening reception for the exhibit Ancestors and Others by Matthew LaRose will be held on Wednesday, February 13, at 4:30 p.m. in the Sleeth Gallery at West Virginia Wesleyan College. The artist has been an assistant professor of art and the art area coordinator at Davis & Elkins College since 1999. LaRose will hold an artist lecture immediately following the reception at 6:00 p.m. LaRose received a bachelor of fine arts degree, and graduated magna cum laude, from Temple University's School of Art in 1977. He graduated from Yale University's School of Art in 1983 with a master of fine arts degree. Last year, LaRose's sole exhibitions were on display including the relief prints exhibit Black, White, and Blue at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, and his paintings and prints exhibit, Black, White, and In Between at Davis & Elkins College. His public collections can be found at the Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut, and at the Delta Blues Museum in Clarkesdale, Mississippi. The Sleeth Gallery exhibit will remain on display until March 15, 2002. |
