| Wesleyan Celebrates
Festival of Lessons & Carols released: 11/27/02 |
Wesleyan
will be hosting the Festival of Lessons & Carols on Sunday, December
8, at 6:00 p.m. in Wesley Chapel. The service is the last official campus
event before the Holiday break and is a favorite among student, faculty,
and alumni. The service is followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree
outside the Chapel and a Christmas party at French. A. See Dining Center.
The day is a celebration of the Christmas season and a great preparation
for individual celebration. The Festival of Lessons & Carols is a traditional Christmas service from Cambridge University in England. It has been celebrated for centuries around the world, and for decades at Wesleyan. The service includes scriptures and carols in anticipation of the birth of Jesus Christ, and it led by a combination of students, faculty, and the College’s administration. Larry Parsons will be leading the Concert Chorale in the singing of the carols. TV 3 will be broadcasting the Festival of Lessons & Carols beginning on Monday, December 9, at 9:30 p.m. and throughout the month of December. |
