Ensemble to Perform at Wesleyan released: 11/14/02 |
The West Virginia Wesleyan College Jazz Ensemble will present its first concert on campus on December 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Wesley Chapel. Earlier, they accompanied the Wesleyan Swing Ensemble in Concert, and played in concert at the All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport, W.Va. Several local students will perform in the jazz program. Jason Whanger, trumpet, David Morgan, horn and trumpet, are from Buckhannon. Aaron Kittle of Elkins plays alto saxophone. Chris Way, tenor sax, of Lincoln High School, Steve McGrew, trombone, of Bridgeport High School, Desiree Langford, piano, of South Harrison High School, and Matt Hull, bass, of Lewis County High School round out the local students. Many of the remaining students have traveled a great deal to perform in the ensemble, including Sarah Helman, tenor sax, of Barre, Vermont, Joshua George, baritone sax, of Limington, Maine, and Taya Radabaugh, tuba, of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Their travel cannot compare with that of Norio Omori, lead alto sax, and Kosuke Misumi, percussion, both from Japan. The program
