“This concert is the culmination of a lot of hard work by these students during the second semester,” remarked director of the Percussion Ensemble and Lecturer of Music Robert Baden.

The West Virginia Wesleyan College Percussion Ensemble is one of three performance groups in which percussionist may participate at the College. The Ensemble is composed of music majors, both vocal, and instrumental, as well as any other interested musicians within the Wesleyan Community who may not be majoring in music. The WVWC Percussion Ensemble seeks to heighten its performers musical sensitivity and technical proficiency through the study of chamber music.

The Ensemble will also tour local schools Thursday, April 24, performing at Union Elementary, French Creek Elementary, and Buckhannon-Upshur High School.

This upcoming fall, the Ensemble will embark on its annual Fall Tour of neighboring states as well as area schools.

Following the performance Tuesday, there will be a reception with refreshments in the Memorial Room.

Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.
