Over 650 West Virginia Wesleyan students donned their game show nametags in hopes of being chosen as a contestant on the West Virginia Wesleyan College Campus Activities Board’s version of Wesleyan’s Price is Right, in Rockefeller Center on Tuesday, April 22, 2003. Emcee Dr. Eric Waggoner, assistant professor of English, and announcer Ron Roth, local radio DJ, provided the “Bob Barker and Rod Roddy” backdrop for an exciting evening. Members of Theta Xi fraternity and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority served as prize models. “Our game show included favorite games like: Plinko, 3 Strikes, the Grocery Game, Let ‘em Roll, Switch, and the Shell Game,” says Alisa Lively, Wesleyan’s Campus Activities Director, “and our prizes, which included a 20” TV with built-in DVD player, a camping package, a futon, a fully stocked 4.9 cubic ft. refrigerator, CASH, and a laptop external CD burner with printer, copier and scanner, were a hit with the college students.” “We
had a spin-off on the big wheel to earn a space in the final showcase,”
says Lively, “for the chance to win the grand prize, a 1999 Toyota
Corolla, courtesy of the Buckhannon Auto Mall and the Campus Activities
Board.”
