End of Season Chorus Ensembles released: 11/14/02 |
![]() The Wesleyan Singers, Concentus Vocum, and Chanticleer Children's Chamber Choir will perform together on Tuesday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Wesley Chapel on the West Virginia Wesleyan College campus. Music by Vivaldi, John Rutter, Ralph Vaughan Williams and others will be presented. Wesleyan Singers will perform Vaughan Williams "Magnificat" with soloist Amanda Eakle and flautist Linda Wolfershiem, a Wesleyan faculty member. Concentus Vocum and Chanticleer Chamber Choir will perform Vivaldi's "Gloria" with a small instrumental ensemble. Also, presented in the program, the Wesleyan Singers, Concentus Vocum and Chanticleer Chamber Choir will perform John Rutter's "The Falcon." Dr. Melody Meadows, Jessica Scott, and Angie Bloss are accompanists. Chanticleer Children's Chorus of WV is comprised of four ensembles that total about 150 children. The children in the choirs come from North Central WV. Sarah Carr, the artistic and music director of the three of the ensembles founded the groups. The chamber choir, which numbers 55, has sung on several occasions for the Governor of WV, for the State Conference of the American Choral Directors, and has made a concert tour of Scotland and England. They are preparing for a 2004 tour of Italy and Austria. |
