Three Wesleyan Students Coach Special Olympians at Charleston
released: 04/11/03
Three West Virginia Wesleyan students coached Special Olympic athletes to medal victories during the West Virginia Special Olympics State Basketball and Cheerleading Tournament held in Charleston, West Virginia.
The tournament was held March 28-30, 2003.

Tia Eaves, a sophomore nursing major from Maryland, Codi Jones, a sophomore biology major from New Jersey, and Stormi Greek, a freshman elementary education major from Pennsylvania, made the trip to Charleston with the seven-member Upshur County Rebels squad for a weekend filled with competition and fun.

Yellow ribbons, in honor of the men and women serving our country, adorned the uniforms of the Upshur County Rebels Cheerleading Squad as they competed in cheer and dance competitions. The squad completed a floor cheer and competition cheer to earn a bronze medal in the Division II Junior Cheer Category and they danced to Destiny’s Child’s “Bootylicious” to earn themselves a silver medal in the Division II Junior Dance Category. Eighteen teams from across the state competed in the Division I and II categories.
