in National Competition released: 01/20/03 |
Taya
Radabaugh, junior elementary education and music performance major, recently
participated in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Eastern Division
Collegiate Artist Performance Competitions. She was selected the winner
in the brass section out of approximately 60 contestants. Radabaugh hails
from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is the daughter of Janice Rock and James
Radabaugh, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is a 2000 graduate of Grand
Rapids Christian High School. Radabaugh is president of Sigma Alpha Iota,
music honorary, a member of Kappa Phi, women's Christian group, and a member
of Phi Kappa Phi, national academic honorary. She is active in the community
teaching master music classes to local school children and giving students
weekly music lessons. Radabaugh studies under the direction of Dr. David Milburn, music professor at WVWC. She is a member of four music ensembles: brass quintet, jazz band, concert band and wind ensemble. She is also a member of the concert chorale under the direction of Larry Parsons, Wesleyan music professor. She will compete in the national music competition in Salt Lake City, Utah, March 17, 2003. |
