Annual Faculty Art Exhibit released: 01/23/04 |

Virginia Wesleyan College’s annual faculty art exhibit will be unveiled
in Sleeth Gallery on Tuesday, January 27 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The exhibit
will showcase a variety of artwork created by Wesleyan's Department of Art
faculty -- Margo Davis, department chair and associate professor of art,
Carol Pelletier, associate professor of art, Kelvin Mason, assistant professor
of art, and Holly Adams, lecturer of art.“This exhibit is an ongoing effort to combine the individual concepts of the department, while displaying each faculty members own technique and background of expertise,” remarked Davis. Davis will present a collection of handmade, multilayered paper nests, which represent a sense of safety and peace for the artist. Pelletier will display paintings alluding to the elemental parts of landscapes, while Mason will present a collection of paintings illustrating a planetary theme. Adams, a new member of the art faculty, will exhibit her ceramic creations. The exhibit will continue to be on display through Thursday, February 19. Sleeth Gallery, located in McCuskey Hall on the Wesleyan campus, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling (304)-473-8433.
