Recital to be Presented March 3 released: 03/01/04 |

Wesleyan College will present the Faculty Jazz II recital on Wednesday,
March 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Atkinson Auditorium. The recital will incorporate
works by David Sanborn, Miles Davis, Pat Martino, Blood Sweat and Tears
and Chicago. The performance will include four faculty members: David Wright, Assistant Professor of Music, on the saxophone; Dr. David Milburn, Department Chair and professor of music, on the trombone; Mark Hamrick, Associate Professor of Music, on the guitar; and James Atha, Lecturer of Music, on the keyboard. Performing along side the faculty will be Wesleyan students Kim Marinich and Darin Shriver, playing the trumpet and drums respectively, along with local musicians John Christian, trumpet; Sam Nesbitt, bass; and Larry Puccio, vocal. Wright remarked, “The show will intertwine jazz and rock styles that demonstrate the artistic talents of the musicians in the show. We hope the community will come listen to the talents we have to showcase and turn the event into a tradition.” Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
