Charles
“Chuck” Hoyes, a 1977 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College,
will be appearing as a guest star on CBS’ hit show, Cold Case.
Hoyes’ episode, entitled, “The Lost Soul of Herman Lester”
will be shown this Sunday, March 14 at 8 p.m. (EST). Hoyes, originally from
the Pittsburgh area, will play the coach of Herman Lester, a Philadelphia
high school basketball star that was found stabbed to death hours after
leading his team to the State Championship in 1987.Hoyes’ other television credits include a recurring role on Jag and appearances on such shows a E. R., The West Wing, The X Files, and Murder She Wrote. He has also appeared in feature films such as Space Jam, The Scout, and Field of Dreams. While a student at Wesleyan, Hoyes’ extracurricular activities included being a student athlete and an actor. “I never came to college to be just a student or just a jock,” remarked Hoyes. “The West Virginia Wesleyan Theatre Department was the perfect outlet for a guy to step outside of himself--take a good look--and figure out what to do next. Once I had a taste of live performing, it wasn't a question of if I would come to Hollywood or New York, only a matter of when. I had performed in theatre before Wesleyan, but my experience there sealed the deal as to what I'd eventually do. My experience at Wesleyan had a direct effect on what I continue to do today.” |
