With West Virginia Theatres released: 06/02/04 |

West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Department of Theatre Arts, Valley
Ridge Studio, and Theatre West Virginia recently became partners to help
broaden their audiences and visibility in the state of West Virginia and
to share resources to realize more fully their respective missions. The partnership will enable Wesleyan students an opportunity to audition and interview for summer internships. This will help students complete their internship requirements, and offer the professional theatre a source of talent for summer endeavors. Also, the partnership will share resources such as costumes, props, professional contacts and publicity venues as agreed upon by the faculty and/or staff of the theatres. Wesleyan students are currently performing in productions for Valley Ridge Studio, a performing arts organization located in Thomas, West Virginia. Valley Ridge Studio presents live performances year round and provides theatre arts training while offering interaction with the natural environment. Several Wesleyan students will be working with Valley Ridge Studio this summer. Jason Jackson from Elkins, West Virginia, will act in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), portray “Snoopy” in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and “Marve” in Guys on Ice. Jeremiah Smallridge from Tallmansville, West Virginia, will play “Linus” in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and “Lloyd” in Guys on Ice. Joshua Stubbs, from New Martinsville, West Virginia, is the accompanist for both You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Guys on Ice. Douglas Seckman from Alma, West Virginia, will be acting in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare(abridged), playing “Schroeder” in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and performing in several one-act plays. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare(abridged) will be held June 24-26; July 8-9, 22-23, 31; August 4 and 12 at 8 p.m. and on July 4 at 2 p.m. You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is slated for July 1-3, 10, 21, 29-30 and August 7 and 14 at 8 p.m. and on July 18 at 2 p.m. Guys on Ice is scheduled for July 15, 16, 17, 24, 28 and August 5, 6 & 13 at 8 p.m. and July 25 at 2 p.m. For more information about Valley Ridge Studio or ticket information, please visit www.valleyridgetheatre.org Theatre WV is located in Grandview, WV, near New River Gorge River.
