Pop/Country Band Emerson Drive to Perform at Wesleyan on Sept. 9

The Campus Activities Board is sponsoring a concert by Emerson Drive, on Friday, September 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rockefeller gym. Emerson Drive, is a pop country music band which started out in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. They received the 2002 Billboard Music Award for New Country Artist of the Year.

The current arrangement of Emerson Drive features Brad Mates, Mike Melancon and Danick Dupelle, Patrick Borque, David Pichette and Dale Wallace. They have earned many accolades with their powerful vocals, solid harmonies and high-octane live performances performing such top hits as “Fall into Me” and “I Should Be Sleeping.” Their albums include their self-titled debut Emerson Drive which was released in 2002 and produced by Richard Marx, and their follow up What If was released in 2004.

The opening act for Emerson Drive will be Shelly Fairchild, an up and coming country artist from Nashville.

Admission is $30 for VIP seating, $25 for general admission, and $20 for Wesleyan students with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased by calling the West Virginia Wesleyan Campus Activities Board office at (304) 473-8104.
