Alezander Lemley Receives Circle of Vision Scholarship
released: 05/27/05
West Virginia Wesleyan’s Alezander Lemley was one of 10 students to receive a Bernard H. and Blanche E. Jacobson Foundation Scholarship for the 2004-05 academic year. Lemley, a junior computer science major from Clarksburg, WV, received a $1,000 scholarship. Circle of Vision scholarships are earmarked for West Virginia student-residents who demonstrate academic promise and maintain a satisfactory grade-point-average.

Started in 1997, the Circle of Vision Scholarship Program has provided nearly $2 million in scholarship funds to more than 1,500 West Virginia students attending West Virginia private colleges and universities.

The Bernard H. and Blanche E. Jacobson Foundation have contributed $10,000 to the Circle of Vision Scholarship Program, which is administered by West Virginia Independent Colleges and Universities (WVICU). “Paul Chewning, WVICU President, states, “It is an honor to partner with the Bernard H. and Blanche E. Jacobson Foundation. Our students benefit so much through this kind of support. We cannot say thank you enough for the kindness and generosity of the Jacobson Foundation.” WVICU has raised more than $30 million since 1951 for scholarship and financial aid purposes, as well as served as an advocate of independent higher education in West Virginia advancement, collaboration among schools, and identification of educational trends.
