The
10th annual West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcat Open will be held
on Monday, June 20 at the Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport,
WV. This annual fundraiser by Wesleyan brings alumni and friends
together in a lavish setting as an exciting day of golf on one
of the most scenic and highly rated courses in the United States
is expected.
Officially opening in 1995, the Pete Dye Golf Club is already
ranked as the second ‘Greatest Golf Course of the Modern
Era.’ The course reflects a true integration of the game
and the West Virginia environment. The course features remnants
of coal mining activity, including exposed, strip mined high
walls, a rotary car tipple, coal-laden mine cars, a cart path
through a once active deep mine, and waterfalls that originate
from deep mining activity of days gone by.
The entry fee will be $150, which includes tee gift, cart, green
fee, box lunch, dinner, and awards. If you or your business
is interested in sponsoring a tee-box or green, donating a prize(s),
suggesting some other arrangements, or for more information
regarding the Bobcat Open, please contact Tim Channell
or Gloria Neely at (304) 473-8509 or (800) 768-8264 or by e-mail
at alumni@wvwc.edu.
