The Senior Seminar Show for theater majors at West Virginia Wesleyan College will be held from Thursday, March 31 to Saturday, April 2. The show will be presented by students who deliver a variety of exhibits and performances. The first event is the presentation of William S. Burroughs' 1959 experimental book “Naked Lunch,” one of the seminal books of the Beat Generation. Student James Holland will direct and perform a 25-minute dramatic adaptation of selected scenes from Burroughs' book. The performance will take place each night at 9 p.m. in Jenkins Arena.
Cast members include Wesleyan student Celise Remy as Addict/Mugwump, assistant professor of English Richard Schmitt as the Narrator, assistant director of admission John Waltz as Dr. Benway, Wesleyan student Sarah Swiger as the Nurse, and assistant professor of English Eric Waggoner as Carl Peterson.
This production contains adult themes and language, and is recommended for mature audiences. The show is free and open to the public.
