West Virginia Wesleyan College has announced the appointment of three visiting instructors for the 2006-2007 academic year. The group will join four other new faculty members and begin teaching at the private residential college on August 22. The most recent appointments include Kelly Hughes as Visiting Instructor of Business, Sara Shawger as Visiting Instructor of Art, and Kim Bjorgo-Thorne as Visiting Instructor of Biology.
Hughes returns to Wesleyan after serving as Social Services coordinator for the Valley Green Apartments in Buckhannon. She earned a B.A. and M.B.A. from Wesleyan and was a member and team captain of the cross country and track teams.
Shawger was an instructor of record for the most recent Wesleyan summer course abroad trip to Ireland. She has also been an art adjunct professor at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA for the past four years. Shawger is a 2000 graduate of Wesleyan earning a B.A. in English Writing and a B.A. in Studio Art. She received her M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from James Madison.
Bjorgo-Thorne will complete her Ph.D. from West Virginia University in the Davis College of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences, Division of Forestry, Department of Fisheries and Wildlife this month. She received a B.S. from the University of Florida and an M.S. from Clemson University.
