Ashley Blandford's two-run double keyed a sixth inning rally as West Virginia Wesleyan downed #19 Gannon 3-1 in an opening round NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Softball Tournament contest.
Cory Karcesky scattered six hits to improve to 26-2 on the season. The senior All-WVIAC selection struck out four and walked none. Lauren Soldner suffered the defeat for Gannon despite pitching a four-hitter.
Fairmont native Kareen Bilotta accounted for two of the Bobcats' four hits, including a leadoff single that started the decisive three-run rally in the sixth inning.
